Pet Policy

POLICY STATEMENT: The presence of pets (including dogs) will be permitted on the Beebe Advent Christian Camp (BACC) grounds only in ways that do not impair the health, safety, security, sanitation and enjoyment of others on the grounds.

 

DEFINITIONS:
   Service animal: an animal that is trained to perform a service for the benefit of a particular individual with a disability.
   Pet: any domesticated animal that is not performing as a service animal

POLICY:
   1. Pets shall be allowed on the grounds under the following conditions:
      a. Pet is registered with BACC ahead of time or on arrival at the grounds, including owner agreeing to take all responsibility for pet and

            any damage or other negative outcomes.
      b. Owner provides proof of current rabies inoculation at registration.
      c. Dogs shall have a name tag.
      d. Dog/pet is known to the owner(s) to be well-behaved and well-socialized (i.e. not aggressive with humans or other animals, obedient,

            house-trained, not known to bark excessively etc.).
      e. Owner is staying in single family cottage or owner’s camper/trailer/tent.
   2. No pets are permitted in Dining Hall/Kitchen/Boarding House, Wilcox building, Tabernacle, or other common room (exceptions may be

         made for approved service animals, with proper documentation).
   3. Owners are responsible for the care, supervision and behaviour of their pets at all times on BACC property.
   4. Owners will pick up and dispose of pet feces appropriately.
   5. When out of doors, dogs will either be kept in an enclosure, or be on a leash with proper collar or harness.
   6. Dogs may be tied outside the owner’s cottage (or rented cottage) if the owner is present with the dog, the range of the dog’s leash is

         short (max 6 feet), and there remains lots of space for other campers to pass by the area without coming near the dog.
   7. Dogs (or other pets) may not be tied outside any public building.
   8. Owners will not permit pets to climb, sit or lie on any exterior furniture, or on any furniture in a rented cottage.

   9. Owners will monitor all contact between their pet and other people.
   10.Owners will not allow children to have contact with their pet without the consent of their parents.
   11.Beebe Advent Christian Camp reserves the right to refuse and/or require the owner to remove any pet if its behaviour is not in keeping

         with the above policy.
   12.Any altercation (and possible resulting injury) between a pet and any other person or animal is the sole responsibility of the pet owner(s).
